Universal Concrete Products Ltd. Co. (Unimix) L.L.C. was founded in mid summer of 1977 to provide highly sophisticated ready mixed concrete services for clients in Dubai. The company was incorporated as a private limited company by decree of His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, and Prime Minister of the U.A.E. Unimix has developed & continuously improves its quality management system, with the ultimate aim of total customer satisfaction. Unimix has been certified to ISO 9001:1994 since 1997. Recently, the company has been re-certified to ISO 9001:2000 standard. Unimix ensures that its products and services comply with customer specifications and the applicable regulatory requirements. Over the last 30 years, Unimix has established itself as the leading producer and supplier of ready mixed concrete in Dubai, continually upgrading its processes and services to meet increasingly demanding specifications from large, unique and complex jobs in the emirate. Since the formation of the company, Unimix has supplied in excess of 9 million cubic meters of concrete to various projects in Dubai. Unimix has one of the best state of the art testing laboratories in the ready mixed concrete industry with qualified and experienced QA/QC personnel. Unimix plants are equipped with highly efficient mixing devices which are vital in the production of low water/cement ratio, high strength, high performance concrete mixes. Various cement replacement materials such as microsilica, ground granulated blastfurnace slag (GGBS) and fly ash, hydrophobic pore blockers, corrosion inhibitors, etc. are all being widely used and Unimix has been a leading player in these areas. Unimix operates a total of eleven (11) fully computerized batching plants, four (4) at the company’s headquarters in Al Quoz, one (1) at Jebel Ali Free Zone, one (1) at Jebel Ali Industrial Area, one (1) at the City of Arabia site, one (1) at the Palm Jebel Ali site, two (2) at the Business Bay site, and one (1) new uninstalled plant, with a total peak production capacity of over 2 million cubic meters of concrete per year. The company’s range of modern equipment includes 169 truck mixers, 38 stationary pumps including 2 of the largest stationary pumps in the world (capable of pumping concrete to heights of more than 400 m), 24 mobile pumps, 31 placing booms and high-rise pumping equipment - giving Unimix the tools to maintain and build on its leading market position in Dubai.
