Headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, SIME offers high quality, high-resolution, satellite and aerial imagery for a geographic area that spans the Middle East, Eastern Africa, the Gulf and Central Asia. The company was established as DSI (LLC), Dubai Space Imaging in November 1997, as a result of a joint venture between Space Imaging Inc., of Denver, Colorado and a group of UAE investors. The company started operating from government run ground stations in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to provide the market with Landsat imagery. In January 1998 DSI established its own ground station in Dubai to task and collect Landsat and IRS imagery. In November 1999, the company changed its name and logo to become Space Imaging Middle East (LLC), the regional affiliate of Space Imaging Inc. To date, SIME is the leading total geo-spatial and GIS solution provider throughout the Middle East, Eastern Africa and Central Asia. SIME offers a full range of products and services, from photogrammetry to mapping GIS, 3D models, imagery analysis and reporting software, vehicle tracking, consulting, and training, among others.
