Department of Transport Abu Dhabi in Dubai Directory

Our beloved father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan - may his soul rests in peace - was an insightful man, who led his country and people with his wise leadership and vision, to this unprecedented progress and prosperity we’re now witnessing in the United Arab Emirates and, more specifically, in Abu Dhabi. In a pursuit to achieve the highest levels of effectiveness in the implementation of our tasks and responsibilities, the Department of Transport has developed strategic priorities within four transport sectors. So as not to prolong my speech, I now outline to you these priorities as follows: Aviation Sector: * Develop and oversee aviation economic regulations * Coordinate with General Civil Aviation Authority on regulations * Oversee ADAC’s strategic planning efforts * Monitor, evaluate, and report sector performance * Promote development of aviation sector Maritime Sector: * Develop, coordinate and oversee maritime regulations, safety, security, economic and environmental protection. * Oversee sea ports strategic planning efforts * Monitor and evaluate sector performance * Promote development of the maritime sector Public Transport: * Develop sector regulations * Oversee public transport future service and operations * Monitor and evaluate sector performance Highways Sector: * Develop sector regulations * Oversee the implementation of highway development plans * Monitor and evaluate sector performance
